Fake advertisements on search engines

While there are number issues which have been doing rounds in the recent times regarding data security & privacy by search engines like google or other social platforms but, one of the key issues which is effecting many businesses today,  is the showing up of malicious websites on the top of search engine results by way of paid up advertisements.

 There have been certain cases, where google has been taken to task by many corporates on these malicious websites showing at the top on search results but the problem seems to be much larger. A simple search for a genuine product or service leads to unwanted results and many times the domain names are also conflicting. This is not only leading the consumers to wrong websites & cheating them but also affecting the revenue of the organizations.

There needs to be a very strict vigil by the brand owners on all such issues and not only these conflicting websites needs to be taken down (with support from search engine like google) but also many stricter actions needs to be taken including filing of criminal and civil cases against the culprits and the technology companies.
