COPYRIGHT SUIT AGAINST NETFLIX’S MOVIE ‘BURNING SANDS’

Posted By Sarthak on 14 Dec 2017

A law suit was filed last week against Netflix Inc. producer of the film ‘Burning Sands’ for alleged copyright infringement. Netflix claimed that the suit had no locus standi and thus the suit must be dismissed.

Federal Judge in Pennsylvania refused to dismiss the law suit filed last week. He further issued summons against Netflix Inc. in the matter.

The suit is filed by an author of the book ‘Burning Sands’, who claim that Netflix through its new movie tried to rip off the author.

Judge J. Curtis Joyner of Philadelphia U.S. District Court has passed an oder of non-dismissal of the suit against Netflix and has ordered for furtherance of the suit.
